Patrick Crosbie1

Patrick Crosbie was the son of unknown MacCrossan and unknown daughter O'Kelly.2 He married Catherine O'Mores.1 He died on 22 March 1611.1
He was given the name of Padraic MacCrossan at birth.1 In 1583 his name was legally changed to Patrick Crosbie.1 He was He entered Government service, and won complete confidence of successive Lords Depute and Privy Counsel.1 In 1602 in recognition of his long and valuable services, he was granted manor of Castlenoe and other property near Maryborough, Queen's County and extensive territory in North Kerry by the Crown.1 North Kerry was the last and most important of the undertakings entrusted to him as 'in the opinion of the whole country, the only man able to effect the same by a fair course', was that of transplanting some 300 members of leading families of Seven Septs ('the notablest disturbers of the peace of the Kingdom') to North Kerry.1 In January 1607 which he began and successfully completed June 1609.1

Rt. Rev. John Crosbie1

Rt. Rev. John Crosbie was the son of unknown MacCrossan and unknown daughter O'Kelly.2 He married Winifred O'Lalor.1 He died in September 1621.1
He held the office of Prebendary of Disert, Diocese of Limerick.1 He was given the name of Sean MacCrossan at birth.2 Circa 1583 his name was legally changed to John Crosbie.2 On 2 October 1600 described by Queen Elizabeth I (in her letter to Lord Dep Mountjoy from the Manor of Oatlands directing the appointment) as 'a graduate in schools, of English race, skilled in teh English tongue and well disposed in religion.1' He held the office of Bishop of Ardfert on 15 December 1601.1
