Brigadier Cathcart Eric Stewart Dobbs was born on 24 February 1895.1 He was the son of Francis Stewart Dobbs and Charlotte Litton.2 He married, firstly, Edith Louise Elizabeth Haggart, daughter of Archibald Henderson Haggart, on 20 November 1919.1 He and Edith Louise Elizabeth Haggart were divorced in 1931.1 He married, secondly, Joan Margaret Eaton, daughter of Colonel Sir Richard William Eaton, on 6 April 1935.1 He died on 17 November 1974 at age 79, without issue.1
He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1915.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He retired from the military in 1946, with the rank of Brigadier, late of the Royal Army Service Corps.1 He was a stockbroker.1
