He was imprisoned in Dumbarton Castle, and his lands confiscated.1 He was a supporter of King James II.1 He held the position of 12th Chief of the Name and Arms of Dundas from in 1431.1

John Dundas, 14th of Dundas was the son of Sir Archibald Dundas, 13th of Dundas and Agnes Borthwick.2 He died circa 1494.1
He held the position of 14th Chief of the Name and Arms of Dundas from.1 On 11 June 1488 he was confidential envoy for King James III, who intended making him Earl of Forth, but was killed at Sauchieburn , before being able to give effect to it.1
