Walter Frederick Oliver Trench was born on 10 March 1899 at Clonodfoy Castle, Kilfinnane, County Limerick, IrelandG.1,2 He was the son of Hon. William Cosby Trench and Frances Elizabeth Shawe-Taylor.1 He married, firstly, Norah Maude Becher, daughter of Venerable John Richard Hedges Becher and Maud Marion Robinson, on 8 February 1921 at St. Finbar's Cathedral, St. Finbar's, County Cork, IrelandG.1,3 He married, secondly, Marian Gwendolyn Young, daughter of Robert Young, on 3 February 1960.1 He died on 22 March 1960 at age 61 at Bagenalstown, County Carlow, IrelandG.1,2
He was given the name of Power Frederick Oliver Trench at birth.2 On 19 May 1899 his name was legally changed to Walter Frederick Oliver Trench re-registered.2 He gained the rank of Flying Officer in 1917 in the Royal Flying Corps.1 He fought in the First World War between 1917 and 1919.1 He gained the rank of Flying Officer on 1 April 1918 in the Royal Air Force.1 He was a director of the Kenya Farmer's Association in 1930.1
