William Charles Gibson was born on 26 March 1812.1 He was the son of Lewis Gibson and Caroline Layard.2 He married Louisa Sophia Layard, daughter of Charles Edward Layard and Barbara Bridgetina Mooyaart, on 15 September 1834.1 He died on 6 March 1892 at age 79.1
