Edward John Beckett, 5th Baron Grimthorpe was born on 20 November 1954.2 He is the son of Christopher John Beckett, 4th Baron Grimthorpe and Lady Elizabeth Lumley.2 He married, firstly, Carey Elizabeth Graham, daughter of Robin Graham, in 1992.2 He married, secondly, Emma Helen Villiers, daughter of Captain Anthony Henry Heber Villiers and Rosemary Elizabeth Bell, on 14 June 2013.3
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.2 He lived in 2003 at Westow Hall, Yorkshire, EnglandG.2 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Beckett, of Leeds, co. Yorks and Somerby Park, Gainsboorugh, co. Lincoln [U.K., 1813] on 6 July 2003.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Grimthorpe, of Grimthorpe, in the East Riding, co. York [U.K., 1886] on 6 July 2003.2

Hon. Oliver Ralph Beckett was born on 21 August 1918.1 He was the son of Ralph William Ernest Beckett, 3rd Baron Grimthorpe and Mary Alice Archdale.2 He married Hélène Agnes Fessas, daughter of Constantine Fessas, on 6 April 1944.1 He died on 22 May 1999 at age 80.1
