Hon. Victor Austin Bruce1

Hon. Victor Austin Bruce was born on 8 April 1897.1 He was the son of Major Henry Campbell Bruce, 2nd Baron Aberdare of Duffryn and Constance Mary Beckett.1 He married, firstly, Mildred Mary Petre, daughter of Laurence Joseph Petre and Jennie Williams, on 16 February 1926.1 He and Mildred Mary Petre were divorced in 1941.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Charlotte Beechey, daughter of Ernest Alfred Beechey, on 19 June 1941.1 He died in 1978.1
He was educated at Wye Agricultural College, Wye, Kent, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Royal Marines.1

Mildred Mary Petre1

Mildred Mary Petre was born on 10 November 1895.2 She was the daughter of Laurence Joseph Petre and Jennie Williams.1,2 She married Hon. Victor Austin Bruce, son of Major Henry Campbell Bruce, 2nd Baron Aberdare of Duffryn and Constance Mary Beckett, on 16 February 1926.1 She and Hon. Victor Austin Bruce were divorced in 1941.1 She died in 1990.1
Her married name became Bruce. She was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)2
She was a racing motorist, and a pioneerr aviatrix (making the first solo flight to Japan in 1930), as well as a speed boat pilot.1
