George Henry Robert Child-Villiers, 8th Earl of the Island of Jersey was born on 2 June 1873.1 He was the son of Victor Albert George Child-Villiers, 7th Earl of Island of Jersey and Hon. Margaret Elizabeth Leigh.1 He married Lady Cynthia Almina Constance Mary Needham, daughter of Francis Charles Needham, 3rd Earl of Kilmorey and Ellen Constance Baldock, on 8 October 1908.1 He died on 31 December 1923 at age 50.1
He was chairman and partner of Child's Bank.1 He succeeded as the 11th Viscount Grandison of Limerick, co. From 8 October 1908, her married name became Child-Villiers. After her marriage, Lady Cynthia Almina Constance Mary Needham was styled as Countess of the Island of Jersey on 31 May 1915. From 5 June 1925, her married name became Slessor.
