Robert Harris Dalzell, 11th Earl of Carnwath1

Robert Harris Dalzell, 11th Earl of Carnwath was born on 1 July 1847.1 He was the son of Colonel Hon. Robert Alexander George Dalzell and Sarah Bushby Harris.1 He married Emily Sulivan Hippisley, daughter of Henry Hippisley and Elizabeth Mary Sulivan, on 19 August 1873 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 8 March 1910 at age 62 at St. Anne's Street, Westminster, London, EnglandG, from syncope while walking to the House of Lords.1 He was buried on 12 March 1910 at Fulham, London, EnglandG.1
He gained the rank of Major in 1882 in the 79th Highlanders.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Battalion, Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.2 He succeeded as the 11th Earl of Carnwath [S., 1639] on 1 November 1887.1 He held the office of Representative Peer [Scotland] between 1892 and 1910.1

He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Welsh Horse Yeomanry.3 He succeeded as the 12th Earl of Carnwath [S., 1639] on 8 March 1910.1

Robert Alexander George Dalzell and Sarah Bushby Harris, on 19 August 1873 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 7 May 1889 at age 36 at Carnwath House, Fulham, London, EnglandG, from diphtheria.1
Her married name became Dalzell. After her marriage, Emily Sulivan Hippisley was styled as Countess of Carnwath on 1 November 1887.
