Lt.-Gen. Sir Napier Crookenden was born on 31 August 1915.2 He was the son of Colonel Arthur Crookenden.1 He married Hon. Patricia Nassau Kindersley, daughter of Hugh Kenyon Molesworth Kindersley, 2nd Baron Kindersley and Nancy Farnsworth Boyd, on 3 August 1948.1 He died on 31 October 2002 at age 87.1
He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Cheshire Regiment.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He was Lieutenant of the Tower of London between 1975 and 1981.2
