Michael David Nevill Cobbold was born on 21 October 1918.1 He was the son of Geoffrey Wyndham Nevill Cobbold and Cicely Helen Middleton.1 He married Ann Rosemary Trevor, daughter of John Christopher Trevor and Katherine Lily Morgan, circa 1949.1 He died on 2 February 1994 at age 75 at Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa.2
He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England G.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England G.1 He gained the rank of officer in the 2nd Battalion, The Buffs.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1940 and 1945.1 He was a partner with Stileman Neate and Topping, solicitors in 1959.1 He held the office of Lord Mayor of Westminster between 1973 and 1974.1
