Captain Hon. Oswald Wykeham Cornwallis was born on 16 March 1894.2 He was the son of Fiennes Stanley Wykeham Cornwallis, 1st Baron Cornwallis and Mabel Leigh.2 He married Hon. Venetia Jane Digby, daughter of Edward Henry Trafalgar Digby, 10th Baron Digby and Emily Beryl Sissy Hood, on 5 December 1923.2 He died on 28 January 1974 at age 79.2

Fiennes Stanley Wykeham Cornwallis, 1st Baron Cornwallis was born on 27 May 1864.1 He was the son of Major Fiennes Cornwallis and Harriet Elizabeth Mott.2 He married Mabel Leigh, daughter of Oswald Peter Leigh, on 10 February 1886.1 He died on 26 September 1935 at age 71.1
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Maidstone between 1888 and 1895.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Maidstone between 1898 and 1900.1 He held the office of Chairman of the Kent County Council.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and Honorary Colonel in the West Kent Imperial Yeomanry.1 He was created 1st Baron Cornwallis, of Linton, co. Mabel Leigh was born circa 1866.1 She was the daughter of Oswald Peter Leigh.2 She married Fiennes Stanley Wykeham Cornwallis, 1st Baron Cornwallis, son of Major Fiennes Cornwallis and Harriet Elizabeth Mott, on 10 February 1886.1 She died on 6 March 1957.1
Her married name became Cornwallis. After her marriage, Mabel Leigh was styled as Baroness Cornwallis on 31 January 1927.
