William Granville Wingate1

William Granville Wingate was born on 28 May 1911 at Reigate, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Colonel George Wingate and Mary Ethel Stanley Orde-Browne.3,2 He married Judith Rosemary Evatt, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Henry Beckwith Evatt and Barbara Wilson, on 12 April 1960.1 He died on 26 July 1990 at age 79 at Hastings, Sussex, England.2
William Granville Wingate usually went by his middle name of Granville.4 He fought in the Second World War between 1940 and 1946.2 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1941 in the Royal Artillery.2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1946 entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.4 He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1963.1 He held the office of County Court Judge between 1967 and 1986.2
