Lt.-Gen. Edward Arthur Somerset was born on 21 February 1817.1 He was the son of General Lord Robert Edward Henry Somerset and Hon. Louisa Augusta Courtenay.1 He married Agatha Miles, daughter of Sir William Miles, 1st Bt. and Catherine Gordon, on 13 September 1849.1 He died circa 6 March 1886.1,2 He was buried on 8 March 1886 at Mitchel Troy, Monmouthshire, Wales.2

Margaret Theresa Eileen Browne was born in 1892.2 She was the daughter of George Caulfeild Browne and Gwendoline Theresa Caulfeild.2 She married, firstly, Malcolm Bond Shelley, son of Alfred Bond Shelley, in January 1913.1 She and Malcolm Bond Shelley were divorced in 1923.2 She married, secondly, Captain Alexander George McCorquodale, son of Alexander Cowan McCorquodale and Maggie Janet Cox, on 27 December 1945.1 She died on 5 January 1966.1
From January 1913, her married name became Shelley. In 1932 her name was legally changed to Cavendish by Deed Poll.2 From 27 December 1945, her married name became McCorquodale.
