Rev. Hon. John Ellis Agar was born on 31 December 1764.1 He was the son of James Agar, 1st Viscount Clifden of Gowran and Lucia Martin.1 He married Hon. Harriet Flower, daughter of William Flower, 2nd Viscount Ashbrook and Elizabeth Ridge, on 11 March 1792.1 He died on 3 January 1797 at age 32, without issue.1
He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1784 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was Rector in 1789 at Duntrileague, County Limerick, Ireland.1 He held the office of Prebendary of Emly in 1789.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1791 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Rector at St. George, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1

Harriet Flower, daughter of William Flower, 2nd Viscount Ashbrook and Elizabeth Ridge, on 20 July 1798.1 He married, secondly, Jane Cavallier, daughter of Peter Cavallier, on 29 April 1815.2 He died on 1 January 1849 at age 74.2
He was given the name of Pryse Lovenden at birth.2 He lived at Buscot, Berkshire, England.2 On 22 March 1798 his name was legally changed to Pryse Pryse by Royal Licence.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cardigan between 1818 and 1849.1 He lived at Gogerddan, Cardiganshire, Wales.2
