Lt.-Gen. Sir Richard Erskine Ward1

Lt.-Gen. Sir Richard Erskine Ward was born on 15 October 1917.1 He was the son of John Petty Ward and Rose Gladys May Marsh-Dunn.1 He married Stella Elizabeth Ellis, daughter of Brigadier Philip Neville Ellis, on 12 August 1947.1 He died on 11 August 1989 at age 71 at Mendip, Somerset, England.1,2
He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the Royal Tank Regiment.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943 and bar.1 He was General Officer Commanding of the 1st Division in 1965.1 He was Commander of the British Forces, Hong Kong in 1970.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.)1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1971.1

Alice Perkins was born circa 1903.2 She was the daughter of Moncure Perkins.1 She married Major Hon. Reginald Henry Winn, son of Rowland Winn, 2nd Baron Saint Oswald of Nostell and Mabel Susan Forbes, on 24 March 1924.1 She died on 2 January 2001.2
Her married name became Winn.

Rowland Winn, 2nd Baron Saint Oswald of Nostell, 1893 1

Rowland Winn, 2nd Baron Saint Oswald of Nostell was born on 1 August 1857.2 He was the son of Rowland Winn, 1st Baron Saint Oswald of Nostell and Harriet Maria Amelia Dumaresq.3 He married Mabel Susan Forbes, daughter of Sir Charles John Forbes of Newe, 4th Bt. and Helen Moncreiffe, on 10 October 1892.3 He died on 13 April 1919 at age 61.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Pontefract between 1885 and 1893.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Saint Oswald of Nostell, in the West Riding of co. York [U.K., 1885] on 20 January 1893.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the West Riding, Yorkshire.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Coldstream Guards.2
