Peter Francis Walter Kerr, 12th Marquess of Lothian was born on 8 September 1922.1 He was the son of Captain Andrew William Kerr and Marie Constance Annabel Kerr.1 He married Loris Antonella Thomasa Newland, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Foster Reuss Newland and Donna Nennella Salazar, on 30 April 1943 at Brompton Oratory, Brompton, London, EnglandG.2 He died on 11 October 2004 at age 82.3
He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He succeeded as the 14th Lord Kerr of Nisbet, Langnewtoun and Dolphinstoun [S., 1633] on 12 December 1940.1 He succeeded as the 15th Lord Jedburgh [S., 1622] on 12 December 1940.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Ker of Kersheugh, co. Margaret Elisabeth McConnel was the daughter of Frederick Bradshaw McConnel.3 She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. James Cunningham Church before 1953.1 She and Lt.-Col. James Cunningham Church were divorced in December 1953.4 She married, secondly, George Victor Robert John Innes-Ker, 9th Duke of Roxburghe, son of Henry John Innes-Ker, 8th Duke of Roxburghe and Mary Goelet, on 5 January 1954.1 She married, thirdly, Jocelyn Olaf Hambro, son of Ronald Olaf Hambro and Winifred Emily Ridley-Smith, in 1976.1 She died in 1983.1
Margaret Elisabeth McConnel usually went by her middle name of Elisabeth.5 From before 1953, her married name became Church.1 From 5 January 1954, her married name became Innes-Ker. After her marriage, Margaret Elisabeth McConnel was styled as Duchess of Roxburghe on 5 January 1954. From 1976, her married name became Hambro.

John Henry Montagu Manners, 9th Duke of Rutland was born on 21 September 1886.2 He was the son of Henry John Brinsley Manners, 8th Duke of Rutland and Marion Margaret Violet Lindsay.2 He married Kathleen Tennant, daughter of Francis John Tennant and Annie Geraldine Redmayne, on 27 January 1916.3 He died on 22 April 1940 at age 53.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Battalion, Leicester Regiment.2 He succeeded as the 9th Duke of Rutland [E., 1703] on 8 May 1925.2 He succeeded as the 17th Earl of Rutland [E., 1525] on 8 May 1925.2 He succeeded as the 9th Marquess of Granby, co.
