Moscow Tramways || From Oleniy Val to Bogorodskoye Shosse (original) (raw)

The first horse-driven tram line from Sokolniki to Bogorodskoye village was built in mid-1880's. An electric tram replaced horses in 1912. Later, in the middle of XX century, the motorcar traffic along Bogorodskoye Shosse became rather heavy, and the tram line was moved to parallel streets; its operation was begun on May 24, 1953.

	A junction of Korolenko Street with Bogorodskoye Shosse. Here the main Shosse (or highway, in English) turns left, while the tram line goes further. June 23, 2000.
	Here begins Bolshaya Oleniya Street. In fact, this place is located on a dike between two ponds. June 23, 2000.
	A tram car in Bolshaya Oleniya Street. The street is just a vista in Sokolniki forest; and look how naturally tram fits into the landscape, causing no damage to ecology! June 23, 2000.
	Bolshaya Shiryaevskaya Street looks exactly the same as Bolshaya Oleniya - nothing more than a cut in the forest with tramway tracks. Leaving this street, tracks return to Bogorodskoye Shosse. April 28, 2001.
