CONVOY SC 2 Departed Sydney, C.B. on Aug. 25-1940 and arrived Liverpool on Sept. 10.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 53 ships in this convoy.

Notes:
Commodore was in Harpoon, Vice Commodore in Yorkmoor.

Commodore's name and notes are not available.

Ships sunk (dates are according to German time):
Neptunian, on a voyage from Santiago for Liverpool with 8500 tons of sugar was sunk by U-47 on Sept. 7. All 36 on board died. (Not included in "Lloyd's War Losses")

On the same day U-47 sank José de Larrinaga, on a voyage from New York for Newport with a cargo of 5303 tons of steel and linseed oil. According to Uboat.net she had a complement of 40 - there were no survivors. (Not included in "Lloyd's War Losses").

The Norwegian Gro was also sunk on Sept. 7 by U-47 - see my page about Gro for more details.

Possidon, on a voyage from New Orleans for Glasgow with 5410 tons of sulphur phosphate was sunk by U-47 on Sept. 9. 17 died, number of survivors not given by "Lloyd's War Losses".

Mardinian, on a voyage from Trinidad for Methil and London with a cargo of 3500 tons of pitch, was sunk by U-28 on Sept. 9. She had a crew of 37, including 1 gunner - 6 crew missing (numbers vary according to source).

The convoy arrived rendezvous on Sept. 7.
