Freeman & Sear - Gemini I, Session 2 Lot: 437 ROMAN EMPIRE. Probus (AD 276-282). Gold aureus (4.62 gm). Rome. IMP PROBVS P AVG, laureate, cuirassed bust right, seen from front, fold of aegis on left shoulder, Medusa head and aegis on breastplate / VICTORIA GERM, trophy between two seated captives with their hands tied behind their backs. Cf. Calic� 4216a, RIC 141, and Cohen 762 (obverse legend and bust type variants). Very rare.
