Mallosia herminae, occuring in Azerbaijan, Iran, and Eastern Turkey, has been described from Araxesthal (Araks river valley, probably in Azerbaijan part) by Edmund Reitter in 1890 [▽]. Like most species of the genus, Mallosia herminae is ecologically associated with big Apiaceae plants close to_Ferula_ and Prangos in the roots of which its larvae develop.

Body length: 16 - 40 mm
Life cycle: 1 year
Adults in: May - June
Host plant: Ferula spp. and Prangos spp. (Apiaceae)
Distribution: Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkey (Gümüshane, Van, Sirnak, Bingöl, Erzurum; ❖)

The depicted mounted beetles were collected in Sīroo (سرو‎) environs (1900-2000 m a.s.l., Sumay-ye Beradust district, Urmia county, Āzarbāyjān-e Gharbī province, Iran) on May 30-31, 2017. The living specimens were collected in: ♂ - Lowlakān (لولكان) village environs (Central district of Oshnavieh County, Āzarbāyjān-e Gharbī province, Iran) on May 25, 2019; ♀ - Serow (سرو) environs (1950 m; Sumay-ye Beradust district, Urmia county, Azarbāyjān-e Gharbī province, Iran) on May 26, 2019.
