Prosopocera unicolor, an interesting East-African faunistic element extending in the north of its distribution range to the Arabian Peninsula, has been described from Samburu environs (Kenya) as Alphitopola unicolor by Charles Joseph Gahan in 1898 [✧]. **Body length:**10 - 21 mm **Life cycle:**1 year [?] **Adults in:**depends on region **Host plant:**polyphagous in broadleaf trees and shrubs **Distribution:**Saudi Arabia, Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia) Depicted mounted beetle (19.3 mm) was collected in Salt Lick Lodge environs (900 m a.s.l., Taita Hills, Tsavo National Park, Kenya) on November 30, 1991.
