Titoceres jaspideus, a beautiful representative of the Ethiopian longhorn beetle fauna reaching the Maghreb and Arabian Peninsula in the northern borders of its occurence, has been described from Senegal as _Ceratites jaspidea_by Jean-Guillaume Audinet-Serville in 1835 [✱]. T. jaspideus is in the area of occurrence considered a serious pest of acacias (Senegalia, Vachellia) and other legume (Fabaceae) trees. Adults, active from November to May (peak in April and May), are nocturnal and can be attracted by light [✮].

Adults in:	November to May (peak)
Host plant:	polyphagous on Fabaceae trees (e.g. Vachellia tortilis, Vachellia seyal, Cassia florida, Cassia petersiana, Senegalia senegal, Dichrostachys cinerea)
Distribution:	Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Ethiopian region (Mauretania, Senegal, Niger, Tchad, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Kongo, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mosambique, Angola, Namibia, Botswana, SAR)

Depicted beetles were collected in Gargoorey (N10°14′24″ E43°03′05″; 1260 m a.s.l., Dix-Gudban environs, Awdal gobol, Somaliland) on October 16, 2021 and (N08°39′36″ E45°56′00″; 800 m a.s.l., Dabaqabad environs, Burao district, Togdheer gobol, Somaliland) on August 29-31, 2018.
