Serial number 9047336. Case diameter: 36mm. 18K solid yellow gold and stainless steel case and bracelet. Plexiglass. Self-winding automatic movement. Superlative chronometer officially certified.
The first Rolex Datejust was introduced in 1945. The Datejust wasn′t the first automatic watch, or the first water-proof watch, or the first chronometer or even a watch with a date function. However, the Datejust was first wrist watch to feature all those four functions combined. Over the years, Rolex sold millions of Datejust watches and the gold and steel combination was probably the most recognizable status symbol of 1970-1980s.
