My source is Whitney Smith's FSS (Flag Specification Sheet) dated 19 August 1972, with caption 'alternate national flag (all purpose)...de jure'.
Armand du Payrat (editor of [pay00]), 18 Dec 2000
I have been in Bahrain about four times in the last two years and have never seen anything but (lots of) the serrated version.
Joe McMillan, 17 Dec 2000
In February 2002, this flag was abandoned altogether and replaced with the serrated flags.
