The municipality of S�o Vendelino (2,160 inhabitants; 3,875 ha) is located 100 km north-west of Porto Alegre.

S�o Vendelino was established by German immigrants coming from Sankt Wendel (Saar), S�o Vendelino's sister-town since 18 October 2003.
