Municipality
The municipality of Painel (2,359 inhabitants in 2019; 73,856 ha) is located 230 km south-west of Florian�polis.

Description of the Flag
The flag and arms of Painel are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 36 promulgated on 5 September 1997.
The Law refers to Appendix 1, for the flag, and Appendix 2, for the coat of arms, of Bill No. 37, without further description of the symbols.
The flag of Painel is quartered per saltire red and blue, charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms.
