Municipality
The municipality of Timb� do Sul (5,379 inhabitants in 2016; 33,007 ha) is located, on the border with Rio Grande do Sul, 270 km south-west of Florian�polis.

Description of the Flag
A black upright cross, bordered red, on a blue field, with the municipal arms in the centre on a white lozenge.

The flag and arms of Timb� do Sul are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 813 promulgated on 24 June 1994.
Article 2.
The coat of arms is composed of a circular figure with the following characteristics and charges.
a) A cogwheel, composed of 18 cogs representing the communities forming the municipality.
b) Mountains, representing the geographic characteristics.
c) A river, representing pure and limpid water.
d) Tobacco, rice and maize, representing crop production.
e) The sun, representing aspiration ot a new day.
f) Towers, representing the municipality's power and sovereignty.
g) Chimneys, representing industry and the municipality's progress.
h) A blue stripe in base inscribed with the date of political and administrative emancipation of the municipality.
i) The green color, representing valleys.
j) The blue color, representing the sky.
l) The white color, representing peace.
m) The brown color, representing a fertile and productive soil.
Article 3.
The flag is blue, rectangular, charged in the center with a polygone inscribing the coat of arms of the municipality, divided by a red-black-red cross, as a tribute to the predominance of the Catholic religion, of 1.30 m in length on 90 cm in width.
