Description of the flag
The Town of Redwater, Alberta (population: 2,172) is located about 40 km NE of Edmonton.
According to Denise Dueck, Administrative Clerk with the Town of Redwater, the municipal flag was adopted by Council in either 2004 or 2005. The flag was designed by John Hawrelko. Importance of the oil industry and agriculture to the local economy are symbolically represented on the flag by an oil derrick, a gear wheel and a sheaf of wheat.
