The flag of the District of Oak Bay, British Columbia, is horizontally divided where the lower field is twice as wide. The upper field is white and the lower field is blue. On the white field are positioned two red maple leaves and between them a wreath of oak and bay leaves in green with acorns in gold and brown and berries in red. On the blue field is positioned a gold sea lion. The maple leaves show that Oak Bay is in Canada. The wreath is called "chaplet" and symbolizes the name Oak Bay and reminds on many oak trees that give the name of the community. The central figure, which is an imaginary animal - a lion with sea creature's tail - reminds on the sea lions and seals around the community shores. This heraldic "Sea Lion" represents Oak Bay's connection with Great Britain and the island nature of the communities. The flag ratio is 1:1.
