The 1985 flag was of the former Borough of North York, Ontario was red with a hand-drawn white heart outline containing the name in a cursive script.

The 1972 flag was of the former Borough of North York, Ontario was white with blue edges on hoist and fly, and the North York emblem in the centre consisting of an interrupted ring 14 yellow disks, bordered blue, and 'n y' arranged inside the ring.
