The flag of Schwendibach is canting, schwenden in German alludes to the clearing of trees but I haven't found this word in my dictionary. The clearing of trees is symbolized by the burning stump and the wavy stripe illustrates the brook (in German Bach).

[Pascal is right about the term "schwenden". In earlier times names like -schwand, Schwand(en), Schwände, Schwendi etc. were often misinterpreted as coming from "Schwan" (swan). "Schwenden" has been out of use for quite a time, thus it can't be found in modern dictionaries.]
