On 1 January 2003 the communes of Estévenens, La Joux, La Magne, Les Ecasseys, Lieffrens, Sommentier and Villariaz became part of Vuisternens-devant-Romont.
On 1 January 2004 La Neirigue joined them (see below), and now a new emblem was created.

There is nothing specific in the blazoning of the banner of arms, but the descriptive text says, "These arms adopted in 1941 reproduce the chapel existing in the XIIIth century before the building of the parochial church in Vuisternens-devant-Romont."
