Azure a Cross gyronny Argent and Sable.

The banner of the arms is "azure a cross gyronny argent and sable". This flag comes from the banner of the Safien country in 1585, this last had a white Agnus Dei in the canton on a green ground. [This was the emblem of the former Safien circle]

On 1 January 2013 the new commune of Safiental was formed through the merger of Safien, Tenna, Valendas and Versam (see below).
