On 1 July 2011 the new commune of Valbroye was formed by the merger of Cerniaz, Combremont-le-Grand, Combremont-le-Petit, Granges-près-Marnand, Marnand, Sassel, Seigneux and Villars-Bramard (see below).

The snails are depicted as crawling towards each other, the blazoning as "combatant" seems exaggerated. "Snails" is the nickname of the inhabitants.
