About the organization

Chile's National Customs Service (Servicio Nacional de Aduanas, SNA) is an agency of the Chilean government, charged with responsibility for "facilitating and streamlining import and export operations," as well as "determining the rights and taxes related to them and verifying that goods that may be considered dangerous do not enter our country," according to the Service's website. The SNA has more than 2,000 officers at 90 points of entry conducting customs enforcement. The National Customs Service came into being as a result of Law No. 329 on 20 June 1979 under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance.
