About the flag

The region adopted a plain white flag charged with the regional coat of arms.

About the Region

On 9 June 2018, the new Ñuble Region came into existence, separated from Biobio Region. It has three provinces—Diguillin, Itata, and Punilla (all created in the same year). The region capital is Chillan.

As the new region was in preparation several years, there were some proposals for the regional flag; one from 2014 is shown on the regional website (from David Astudill Ortega).
