About the flag
This commune in the Ohiggins Region owes its name to the Mapudungun language which means "Small Degú," a typical rodent of the area. Its flag is a tertiary one whose upper and lower stripes are blue and thinner than the central white one that incorporates the coat of arms of the commune where a characteristic river water mill can be seen in the rural area of central Chile.
