A 2:1:1 flag is also shown at the departmental web site. However, the municipal web site show the flag with equale width stripes and with 5 yellow stars at the canton: "LA BANDERA Consta de tres franjas horizontales, Cuyos colores son verde, blanco y amarillo El verde representa la belleza Vegetal del Municipio El Blanco: representa la paz y convivencia pacífica de Sus habitantes. Amarillo: representa la riqueza del Subsuelo Puertorriqueño. Las estrellas amarillas representa los corregimientos."
