Blansko is a few km north of Brno; its flag, to be found on this site, was adopted 30 Sep 1996, The flag is divided into three vertical stripes: white, blue and white in proportion 2 : 5: 2. There is a white tower with dome-shaped roof and two spikes on the sides in the central blue stripe. The proportion of the width to the length of the flag is 2 : 3.
Symbolism of the flag: the blue stripe with the tower suggests the town emblem. Two white stripes are symbolising two rivers that are important for the origin and development of the Blansko locality - Svitava and Punkva.
The firm Velebný a fam. from Ústí nad Orlicí was ordered to made the flag. The ceremonial version is made of blue and white velvet mended with gold and silver thread. There are golden fringes on the sides and Moravian spread - eagle on the top of the pole. It was presented to public at the opportunity of Ceremonial evening in Town Gallery on 1st April 1998 for the first time.
On 20th September 1999, the flag was consecrated in St. Martin's church in Blansko.

It is not known when Blansko gained its emblem. The first appearance has been proved by the seals from the 80's of the 16th century. The current emblem was approved on 17. 5. 1990. There is a silver tower of fortification made of ashlars on the blue shield, it has a dome-shaped roof and two spikes on the sides. There are golden cupolas on the top of the roof and on the spikes.
