Coat of arms

Description of coat of arms:
The golden (=yellow) shield has a blue base. Upon the blue base stands a red castle having an embattled wall masioned black. In the centre is an open gate with a gable formed like stairs. The wall is topped by two towers with black cone shaped towers.

The flag had been approved by the county council of Ammerland on 12 February 1991.
