Coat of arms
Description of coat of arms:
In a golden (=yellow) field are two vertical man traps/wolf traps connected by a horizontal bar of the same colour.
Meaning:
According to source the colours are those of Ammerian "fesses" of the counts of Oldenburg. The traps are symbolizing the forestal riches and hunting as well. Their form is also alluding to the marks used on the gables of farm houses..

The draft of the arms existed since 1936, was approved for seals by Reichsstatthalter in 1937 and approved as coat of arms by president of Oldenburg district in 1965.
