Meaning:
The upper half displays the arms of Esterwegen, seat of Nordhümmling. The lower half is representing the Hümmling, a ground moraine landscape.

Shield Argent, an embowed fess Sable, superimposed by an eradicated beech Gules with young sprouts Vert
Meaning:
Stem and sprouts are symbolising the continuous renovation of life. The embowed fess is symbolising the circular entrenchments used for defense against enemies in the past.
The arms were approved on 7 July 1936.
