Wittnau Coat of Arms
Shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure a church Or on top of a mount issuant Vert, at sinister Or a bear rampant Sable armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The village was a settlement core of Sankt Gallen Abbey in the Medieval. It was first mentioned in 768. The dexter half displays the bear from the arms of the abbey. The sinister half refers to the location of the local church with a bulbous spire on top of a mountain.
