Kirchdorf Coat of Arms
Shield Gules parted by an abased fess wavy Argent, a key Argent with forked wardens, flanked by two attires addorsed Or.
Meaning:
The fess wavy is a representation of the Amper River. The attires are taken from the family arms of the Lords of Kirchdorf, first mentioned in 1102. They played an important role until 1423. The key is symbolising St. Peter and St. Paul and is taken from the arms of the Premonstratensian Neustift Abbey in Freising, to which the local parish church belonged. The abbey had also been an important manorial lord and rebuilt the local church between 1706 and 1708.
