Shield Azure, two lion's heads averted Or tongued Gules, in base a couple of one linden leaf and two oak leaves, all Or, embattled chief Or without charges.
The coat of arms was approved on 20 March 1981 by Minister of Interior of Hesse.

Shield Azure, a lion's head Or tongued Gules and surrounded by four billets Or, chief embattled Or charged with three linden leaves Azure in fess.
Meaning:
The lion's head with billets is derived from the arms of Nassau. The embattled chief is probably representing the castles of Gleiberg and Vetzberg.
