Schwalm-Eder County Coat of Arms
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per fess. Above in a blue field is a demi-lion barry of silver and red, crowned golden. The base is four times divided per fess wavy into silver and blue.
Meaning:
From Ralf Hartemink's International Civic Arms website: The arms are a combination of the lion of Hesse, as the county was part of Hesse since the 13th century, and the Schwalm and Eder rivers symbolized by the bars in the lower part of the arms.
