Obernbreit Coat of Arms

Shield quartered of Argent and Sable.
Meaning:
The oldest known town seal from the 16th century displayed a quartered shield, beneath the shield the seal is filled with wavy lines symbolising the Main River, a supporting angel was issuant from the upper edge of the shield. As Obernbreit had been a possession of the _Counts of Castell_since 1258, Otto Hupp (1925) and Klemens Stadler (1965) displayed the quartered shield in the tinctures of the counts, white and red. As the town around 1560 had been a possession of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach from the Zollern kin, the tinctures might have been white and black instead. According to Ralf Hartemink they were used by the town at least since 2014.
