Losheim Coat of Arms
Shield quartered, 1st quarter Argent a centred cross Gules, 2nd quarter Gules two antlers Argent ordered per pale, 3rd quarter Gules an oak branch Argent with 11 leaves, 4th quarter Argent a 12-spokes wheel without ferrule.
Meaning:
The 1st quarter displays the arms of the Archbishopric of Trier, to which the municipality historically belonged. Probably the other quarters are alluding to the location of the municipality in the Saar-Hunsrück Natural Preserve. The number of leaves and spokes in the wheel without ferrule (German: Göpelrad) is representing the 12 settlement cores of the municipality as follows: Bachem, Bergen, Britten, Hausbach, Mitlosheim, Niederlosheim, Rimlingen, Rissenthal, Scheiden, Wahlen, Waldhölzbach and Losheim proper.
