Zwingenberg Coat of Arms
Shield Azure, three swan heads Argent armed Or, ordered 2:1.
Meaning:
The village developed beneath Zwingenberg castle, today one of the best kept castles along Neckar River. The arms had been the family arms of the Lords of Zwingenberg, former owners of castle and village from the 13th century until the 14th century. They lost their properties during a struggle about the toll at neckar River between the Palatine Counts of Rhine and the Archbishops of Mainz. Abolished in the 18th century they arms had a revival in the 19th century and were adopted by the municipality in 1913.
